Autobuses de Oriente

Autobuses de Oriente, S. A. de C.V. (ADO ) (German coaches of the East AG) is a Mexican first-class bus company that serves the south, the region around the capital and the coastline of the Gulf of Mexico to the border with the United States. Their motto since the company is Siempre Primera (Eng. always first).

History

ADO began with the bus operation on 23 December 1939 on the route Mexico City - Puebla - Perote - Xalapa Veracruz - a bus Bentley Continentals, which required about nine hours for the trip. At this time neither bus terminals exist yet well-developed road networks. In addition, demand was low after coach tours.

Only in 1950 a bus service was taken up to Villahermosa in the timetable. In 1978 the terminal TAPO built in the south of Mexico City and opened by José López Portillo. To date, the TAPO terminal in Mexico City is the largest ADO terminal.

Beginning of the 90s of the 20th century started to handle the sale of tickets on the computer. Today, you can book the tickets directly through the internet and select a seat.

Fleet

In earlier times, buses from DINA ( Avante models, Olímpico and Flexible " jorobado " ) were used. Today, ADO uses the two-axle buses Mercedes- Benz (Marco Polo), Busscar and Volvo, which are held in silver - red or white-red. The higher classes, ADO Platino and ADO GL, mainly use three-axle buses of Volvo, which are equipped with some additional features.

All buses ADO are equipped with toilets, TVs, air conditioning and reclining seats. Higher classes have separate toilets, coffee machines and bed -like seats.

Line network

ADO runs direct services between major cities in southern Mexico and the Gulf Coast. ADO is running at present goals in 13 Mexican states of ( known in parenthesis places with an ADO terminal of any State ):

Grupo ADO

The Grupo ADO ( not to be confused with the ADO bus operation, which itself belongs to the Grupo ADO) is an amalgamation of various bus companies in southern Mexico. Some of these bus companies (eg SUR, Autobuses Sierra - Texcoco or TRV) are known as collective buses without air conditioning and other comforts that go down to the smallest villages and the population of the villages have a connection to the next bigger city.

The Grupo ADO also includes luxury lines such as ADO GL (ADO Gran Lujo ) or ADO Platino ( Bussservice with maximum confort ) and a Mietbusservice as car door.

ADO Platino

With the Línea UN ADO extended its services in 1990 and went into the luxury class. The aim was to offer the same comfort as in a flight in First Class ( Servicio de Avión por Tierra ). 2010 ADO offshoot UN was renamed ADO Platino and vice injected the buses. The comfort remained the same. For use get Volvo buses, which have three seats per row. The seats are bed seats with footrests which can be folded down for sleeping.

The buses ADO Platino go to only a few stations of the route network of the ADO bus operation. Offer additional services such as headphone jacks, reading lamps, leg and arm movement more, drinks and coffee on board and separate toilets for men and women.

ADO Grande Lujo (ADO GL)

1992 Advanced ADO the luxury segment. ADO GL ( GL stands for Gran Lujo - great luxury ) is a cheaper alternative to ADO Platino represent. The difference to the normal luxury buses are normal seats ( four per row) and no bed seats as with ADO Platino.

With the Football World Cup 1970 started with ADO to offer charter buses. 1976 were 15 buses specifically for the charter service in use. 1985 began officially under the name car door, buses including a chauffeur for trips and school trips for rent.

While in the past nor Dina buses used, mainly Scania (Model, Irizar ) are used nowadays.

Others

  • ADO provides under the name Multi Pack to a global parcel service.
  • ADO uses the copiloto, cruise control, which is a squeak of itself is at speeding until the driver is again below the allowed speed.
