Autonomous Region of Bougainville

The autonomous region of Bougainville ( Autonomous Region of Bougainville ) is one of the 21 provinces of Papua New Guinea. Until the attainment of autonomy in 2005 it was known under the name of North Solomons Province ( North Solomons Province).

The province includes the eponymous main island of Bougainville and Buka Island north of this location and the small islands of the Carteret Islands, Green Island, Nuguria Islands, Nukumanu Islands and Takuu. Provincial capital, is the place Buka.

Districts and LLGs

The autonomous region of Bougainville is divided into three districts. Each district consists of one or more distinguish " areas at the local administrative level ," Local Level Government ( LLG ) areas which in Rural (rural ) or urban ( urban) LLGs.
