Ava Inferi

Ava Inferi is a Portuguese doom metal band that was founded in Almada 2005.

History

The band was co-founded by the Norwegian musician Rune " Blasphemer " Eriksen (ex - Mayhem, Aura Noir, Mezzerschmitt, 1349 ) and the Portuguese singer Carmen Susana Simões (ex Aenima ) 2005. After addition came in the same year Jaime Ferreira as a bassist and a drummer João Samora, the band at a first album began to work. This finally appeared in January 2006 under the name of Burdens at the French label Season of Mist and is more marked in turning away from Eriksen's previous black metal career of melancholy doom metal sounds and the melancholy song of the singer, who inspired heavily by the Portuguese Fadostil is.

The Portuguese gothic metal band Moonspell was so taken by the singer that this was subsequently hired in spring 2007 for a re- recording of the album Under Satanae. Also on the album Night Eternal, she was a guest singer in use.

In October 2007, the second album The silhouette was released, which is the debut album stylistically very similar and is characterized by dark, elegiac music.

In April 2008, Eriksen finally left Mayhem, in order to concentrate on his work with Ava Inferi and to be able to move his main point from Norway to Portugal. The difficult and accompanied by negative feelings Farewell to Mayhem he worked according to his own words in which for him " cleaned album " Blood of Bacchus, which was released in May 2009. For a song of the album, he could win his friend Kristoffer " Garm " Rygg by the Norwegian band Ulver as a guest singer.

Although the band rarely occurs live, they played but even on larger festivals such as Hellfest 2008 or the Wave -Gotik-Treffen 2009. In February / March 2009 also played together with Tiamat and The 69 Eyes on the Hellhounds Fest Tour.
