Badri Khasaia

Badri Chasaija (Georgian ბადრი ხასაია; * September 24, 1979 in Kutaisi ) is a Georgian wrestler. It was founded in 2002 in Greco- Roman style European champion in the welterweight division.

Life

Badri Chasaija began as a teenager in 1988 with the rings. It focuses entirely on the Greco- Roman style. The 1.80 meter tall athlete belongs to the Sport Club Dinamo Tbilisi and there is coached by Damerlan Davidaja.

Even as a junior Badri Chasaija was very successful. He won at his first participation in an international championship, the Junior World Championship of Cadets in 1995, in the weight class up to 60 kg body weight behind Max Schwindt from Germany, the silver medal. Another medal he won at the Junior World Championship ( Juniors) 1998 in Cairo, where he reached the 3rd place in the weight class up to 70 kg body weight. For a title, it was enough for him then in 1999, when he finished at the Junior European Championships in Budapest in the weight category to 76 kg body weight before Peter Szabo from Hungary and Yusuf Düzer from Turkey the first place.

In the senior Badri Chasaija started with a bang, as he was at his first participation in an international senior championships in 2002 in Seinäjoki / Finland equal Europe welterweight champion. He defeated among others with Mohamed Reza Babulfath from Sweden, Roustam Adzhi, Ukraine and Russia Warteres Samurgaschew from three world-class wrestler. The fact that this victory was no fluke, he proved a few months later at the World Championships in Moscow, where he, inter alia, Marko Yli- Hannuksela from Finland and Vladimir Schazkych from Ukraine defeated and thus in the fight for the world title again faced Warteres Samurgaschew. Samurgaschew was able to turn the tables compared to the 2002 European Championships, defeating Badri Chasaija on points. This was Samurgaschew World Champion and Vice World Champion Chasaija.

In 2003, Badri Chasaija could not repeat these successes. He lost at the European Championships this year in Belgrade against Marko Yli- Hannuksela and at the World Championships in Creteil against Wladimir Schazkych. Since these wrestlers did not reach the finals, he was parted from each early and finished 10th or the 13th Place.

The year 2004 brought for Badri Chasaija a bitter disappointment because he could at tournaments in Novi Sad, where he was in 16th place and in Tashkent, where he finished in 5th place, not to participate in the Olympic Games Athens qualify.

From the successes of 2003 and 2004, he then took the consequences and moved into the middle weight (weight category up to 84 kg body weight) in order to escape the constant detraining. This measure was then at the 2005 European Championships in Varna already a success, as he won a bronze medal there. After a defeat against Alexei Mishin from Russia he won this medal by defeating Sandor Istvan Bardosi from Hungary. But at the World Championships 2005 in Budapest he disappointed again, because after a victory in the first round of Melonin Noumonvi from France he lost his next fight against the largely unknown Japanese Shingo Matsumoto, so he left and finished only 18th place.

2006 started Badri Chasaija only at the World Championships in Guangzhou (Canton) and delivered good fights there. But after three wins he then failed to Mohamad Abd El Fatah from Egypt and Alexei Mishin and came on the 5th Place.

After a 14th place finish at the 2007 European Championship in Sofia, where he was early thrown by Nazmi Avluca, Turkey, from the race he won at the World Championships this year in Baku again a medal. After a defeat in the third match against Alexei Mishin but he needed to do three victories over the world-class athletes Vyacheslav Subarjew from Kazakhstan, Nazmi Avluca and Ara Abrahamian, Sweden.

2008 Badri Chasaija occupied at the European Championships in Tampere, inter alia, with wins over Andrea Minguzzi, Italy and Jan Fischer, Germany after a defeat in the final battle against Nazmi Avluca the 2nd place and qualified for participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing. There he met already in the 1st round again Nazmi Avluca and subject to that on points (1:5 techn. Dots 0-2 rounds). Since Avluca but did not reach the final, the Olympic tournament was ended with this defeat for Badri Chasaija. For him there was only the 16th Place.

The latest up to the start of Badri Chasaija took place at the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark. Here he was defeated after two victorious battles against Mélonin Noumonvi from France and failed in the battle for the World Cup bronze medal at Habibollah Akhlaghi from Iran.
