Bahman Mohasses

Bahman Mohasses ( born February 1932 in Rasht, Iran, † 28 July 2010 ) was an Iranian painter, sculptor and translator.

Life

At the age of 14 he began his training at the workshop and the workshop of Mahammad Habib Mohammadi, who in turn had studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture. He continued his education at the University of Tehran in 1955 and continued at the Academy of Arts in Rome.

In 1963 he returned to Iran and brought there, the play The Chairs by Eugène Ionesco on stage. From 1967 he lived until his death in Rome again. Besides his work as an artist, he translated works by Italo Calvino, Curzio Malaparte, Luigi Pirandello, Ionesco and Jean Genet.

Bahman Mohasses was considered introverted man who led a life of seclusion. He died of heart disease Cor pulmonale.

Exhibitions

Bahmann Mohasses participated in several solo and group exhibitions in Rome, Milan, Florence, Cannes, Paris, Beirut, Geneva and Tehran, in part, also in biennials in Rome, Paris and Sao Paulo. Some of his works are of Contemporary Art and the Jahan - Nama Museum of Niavaran palace to see further in the Tehran Museum.
