Baklan

Baklan is the capital of the district of the Turkish province of Denizli. Baklan is located about 62 km northeast of the provincial capital of Denizli. Baklan had according to the last census, 2,012 inhabitants ( as of December 2010). With the associated villages and small towns, the population is 6,265.

The city was founded as Dedeköy. Dede is a Turkish term of respect for leaders of dervish communities. Dede refers to the Seljuk warriors Alp Eren Huesamettin Gazi from the 13th century, whose Türbe is located in the city. He is referred to by the population as Huesamettin Dede.
