Bakırkoy ( Turkish for copper village ) is a lying district on the European side of the Turkish city Istanbul and also a district of the province of İstanbul. In this classification it comes to responsibilities of administrative authorities. Had Bakırkoy according to the last census, 214 810 inhabitants (as of December 2008).

In ancient times was located on site of the present district of the suburb Hebdomon.

In Bakırkoy is the City 's largest airport, Ataturk Airport ( Atatürk Havalimanı ). Bakırkoy located on the coast of the Marmara Sea.

Bakirköyspor is the football club of the place, which plays in the fourth Turkish league.
