Båtsfjord ( Sat. Báhcavuotna ) is a commune in the Norwegian province (county ) Finnmark.

Location and General Description

Båtsfjord is protected in a fjord of the Barents Sea. The main industry is fishing and their processing units. The fish-rich waters around Båtsfjord also ensure that the fishing tourism is growing rapidly provide.

The settlement is already old, during excavations courses were found that date back to the Stone Age. During World War II, the city was not destroyed. Båtsfjord was therefore established in 1944 as a supply base.

Traffic

The Port of Båtsfjord is protected in the fjord. Båtsfjord is Hurtigruten. The connecting road to the European Route 6 is the year befahrbahr. The Båtsfjord airport is located about seven kilometers south of the community.
