Besenbüren

Besenbüren ( in local dialect: [ ˌ Baesi b̥ʏ ː ɾə ] ) is a municipality in the district of Muri in the southeast of the Swiss canton of Aargau. It lies in the middle Bünztal.

Geography

The community lies on the edge of the foothills of the Bünzebene to Wagenrain, one mile east of Bünz and a half miles west of the River Reuss. The biggest part of its territory is mostly flat, and only in the north- west and north- east the terrain is hilly.

The area of the municipality is 238 hectares, of which 47 hectares are forested and built over 29 hectares. The highest point is located on 498 meters on the north western edge of the village, the deepest at 436 meters on the southern boundary of the municipality.

Neighboring municipalities are Bremgarten in the north, Rottenschwil in the east, Aristau in the southeast, southwest and Bünzen Boswil in the northwest.

History

In Forums moss on the southern boundary of the municipality was discovered various items from the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods, including stone hatchets and hand axes. From the Bronze Age comes several spearheads that were found at the same location.

The municipality has a kindergarten and a primary school. The junior high school and the secondary school can be visited in Boswil, the district school in Muri. The nearest district school (high school ) is located in Wohlen.
