Bethesda Softworks

Bethesda Softworks LLC, is an American game developer and publisher, based in Rockville, Maryland, owned by ZeniMax Media.

History

Bethesda Softworks was founded in 1986 by Christopher Weaver and became known especially through the series The Elder Scrolls. Since 2004, the developer and publisher is also in possession of the Fallout license. In 1999, Weaver and Robert A. Altman, the company ZeniMax Media, in order to expand the scope of activities of the company to other media areas away from the gaming market can.
