Blake Russell

Blake Russell (nee Phillips; born July 24, 1975 in Winston- Salem) is an American long-distance runner.

In 1999, she won the 5000m bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg, and in 2000 it was over 10,000 m at the U.S. Seventh eliminator for the Olympic Games in Sydney.

In 2003, she won her debut at about the 42,195 - km - distance to the Twin Cities Marathon in 2:30:41 h following year she missed in fourth at the U.S. eliminator just participating in the marathon in the Olympics in Athens and finished ninth at the Chicago Marathon.

At the World Cross Country Championships in 2005, she took on the short distance to 15th place and won with the U.S. team bronze. As U.S. vice- champion in the 10,000 m she started over this distance at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki and arrived there on the 22th Place. In the 20 - km road race it was U.S. champion and sixth in Chicago.

In 2006, she became a U.S. champion in cross country and in the 15 - km road race. In the Cross Country Championships she won the 18th place on the short distance and the eleventh on the long haul.

In 2007, she was sidelined most of the season because of a broken metatarsal. In 2008, she held up the U.S. excretion marathon in third place and was subsequently nominated for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where she broke in on rank 27.

In early 2009 she returned to a boy and took a baby break. In 2010 she also returned with a victory at San Jose Half Marathon, but had to cancel the planned launch at the New York City Marathon due to an injury.

Blake Russell is 1,65 m tall and weighs 49 kg. She studied at the University of North Carolina and Elon University, which she graduated in 2000 as a master in the art physiotherapy.
