Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem

Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem ( German United Blatnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers east of Veseli nad Moravou in Moravian Slovakia and belongs to Okres Hodonín.

Geography

The wine and pilgrimage Blatnice pod Svatým Antonínkem located on the river in the Svodnice Marc Hebene. East of the village, the passed with a pilgrimage chapel Svatý Antoninek Antonínský rises Kopec (360 m), on the leads a Via Crucis. The hill serves as the southeastern located Roháč (278 m) as a vineyard. The municipality is the intersection of the state road 54 between Veseli nad Moravou and Nové Mesto nad Váhom with the 71 between Uherský Ostroh and Myjava. A mile west of the village passes the railroad, at the Blatnice has a train stop.

Neighboring towns are Ostrožská Lhota in the north, Hluk in the northeast, Blatnička in the east, Louka in the southeast, and Lipov Tasov in the south, Hroznová Lhota and Kozojídky the southwest, Veseli nad Moravou in the west and Uherský Ostroh in the northwest.

History

First records of the town was in 1046 by the section in Stara Boleslav. Blatnice lay on a trade route and was part of the rule Kunovice.

After the bishopric of Olomouc became the owner of Blatnice and from 1296 the place belonged Ulrich II of Neuhaus. From this period the wine is busy; the wine from Baltnice was delivered to Prague. After 1350, the place came to power Ostrožský.

The place is known for its wine, the " Blatnický Roháč ", a mixture of Rheinländischem Riesling, Silvaner Green and White Pinot Grigio. See also the article viticulture in the Czech Republic.

Every year on June 13 begins the 14-day Anthony pilgrimage. In addition, in August a costume thanksgiving service and in October the Allerseelenzug.
