Milotice

Milotice ( German: Milotice ) is a municipality in Moravian Slovakia, in Okres Hodonín, South Moravian Region, Czech Republic.

History

The Milotice castle was first mentioned in 1341. In its vicinity, the eponymous settlement arose. 1412 Johann acquired from country rock and Morawan (z Moravan ) Milotice and sold the maternal family Morawan his stepbrother Protivec of Zástřizl. John's son Smil from country rock and Morawan († 1438 ) was one of the most important Moravian military leader. The Catholic moved in 1430 to the side of the Hussites and went later in Hungarian services. In Milotice was also a hutterischer Bruderhof in the 16th century.

In the second half of the 17th century the castle was rebuilt and received in the first half of the 18th century, its present Baroque appearance. At that time, the castle was owned by the Count Serényi. 1848 died the lord Franz Hardegg under mysterious circumstances in Vienna. At that time, the rule included the places Milotice, Vacenovice, Skoronice, Vlkoš, Čeložnice, Nětčice, Svatobořice, Mistřín, Sobůlky and Stavěšice.
