Bluffy, Haute-Savoie

Bluffy is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Bluffy is on 684 m above sea level. M., 8 km east-southeast of the town of Annecy (air line). The village extends into the Bornes Alps east of the Lac d' Annecy, above the pass traversal Col de Bluffy at the western foot of the Dents de Lanfon.

The area of ​​3.74 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Bornes Alps. The western boundary runs in the region of the Col de Bluffy (630 m above sea level. M. ), a broad saddle flanked by the heights of Mont Baret and the massif of the tour Cute, connects from Lac d' Annecy to the valley of Fier. To the east, the municipality's area covers over a densely wooded hillside down to the jagged limestone peaks of the Dents de Lanfon running with 1824 m above sea level. M. the highest elevation of Bluffy is achieved.

To Bluffy include the hamlet of Le Bosson (700 m above sea level. M. ) on a ridge at the foot of the Dents de Lanfon, a neighborhood on the Col de Bluffy as well as some individual farms. Neighboring communities of Bluffy Alex are in the Northeast, Talloires in the south and Menthon -Saint -Bernard in the West.

History

Since the 11th century Bluffy belonged to the monastery of Talloires.

Population

With 339 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Bluffy one of the small towns in the Haute-Savoie region. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the population steadily increased due to high levels of emigration from (1861 were still in Bluffy counted 471 inhabitants).
