Boguszyce, Silesian Voivodeship

Boguszyce ( German: Boguschütz ) is a town in Upper Silesia in the Toszek ( Tost ) powiat in Gliwice in Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical Location

Boguszyce is located three kilometers southwest of the municipal center Toszek, 21 kilometers northwest of the county town of Gliwice ( Gleiwitz ) and 41 kilometers northwest of the voivodship Katowice.

Neighboring towns of Boguszyce are in the north Toszek ( Tost ), in the southeast Ciochowice ( Ciochowitz ) and in the south Slupsko ( Slupsko ).

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 98 voters to remain in Germany and 59 for Poland. Boguschütz remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 420 inhabitants in the village. On 12 February 1936, the town was renamed in God contactor. 1939, the place had 457 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Tost - Gleiwitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Boguszyce and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Katowice Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Gliwice and the new Silesian Voivodeship.
