Pisarzowice, Gliwice County

Pisarzowice ( German: Pissarzowitz ) is a town in Upper Silesia in the Toszek ( Tost ) powiat in Gliwice in Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical Location

Pisarzowice is located three kilometers southeast of the municipal center Toszek, 20 kilometers northwest of the county town of Gliwice ( Gleiwitz ) and 39 kilometers northwest of the voivodship of Katowice.

Neighboring towns of Pisarzowice are in the northwest Toszek ( Tost ) and in the southwest Ciochowice ( Ciochowitz ).

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 105 voters voted to remain in Germany and 189 for Poland. Pissarzowitz remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 538 inhabitants in the village. 1931, the town was renamed in Schreibersort. 1939, the place had 505 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Tost - Gleiwitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Pisarzowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Katowice Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Gliwice and the new Silesian Voivodeship.
