Paczynka

Paczynka ( German: Small Patschin ) is a town in Upper Silesia in the Toszek ( Tost ) in the powiat Gliwice in Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geography

Geographical Location

Paczynka located eight kilometers southeast of the municipal center Toszek, 15 kilometers northwest of the county town of Gliwice ( Gleiwitz ) and 34 kilometers northwest of the voivodship Katowice.

Neighboring towns of Paczynka are in the northwest Paczyna ( United Patschin ) and to the east Pyskowice ( Peiskretscham ).

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 72 voters to remain in Germany and 82 for Poland. Small Patschin remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 272 inhabitants in the village. On 12 February 1936, the town was renamed in Ellerbrück. 1939, the place had 254 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Tost - Gleiwitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Paczynka and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Katowice Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Gliwice and the new Silesian Voivodeship.
