Proboszczowice, Silesian Voivodeship

Proboszczowice ( German: Probo Scho joke) is a town in Upper Silesia in the Toszek ( Tost ) powiat in Gliwice in Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geographical Location

Proboszczowice located eight kilometers west of the parish seat Toszek, 25 kilometers northwest of the county town of Gliwice ( Gleiwitz ) and 47 kilometers northwest of the voivodship Katowice.

History

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 voted 52 voters to remain in Germany and 176 for Poland. Probo Scho joke remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 351 inhabitants in the village. On 12 February 1936, the town was renamed in Probst field. 1939, the place had 400 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Tost - Gleiwitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Proboszczowice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Katowice Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Gliwice and the new Silesian Voivodeship.
