Geography

Geographical location

Bötzingen lies about 15 km west of Freiburg im Breisgau on the southeast side of the Emperor chair. Neighboring communities Bötzingens are from the north clockwise Eichstetten am emperor chair, March, God Home, Ihringen, Vogt castle in the Emperor chair (all district Breisgau in the Black Forest).

Community structure

The municipality consists of the village and the place Bötzingen upper Schaffhausen and the disposed Kranzenau castles and mountain soul.

History

Documented Bötzingen was first mentioned in 769 as Bezzo in a document of the Lorsch monastery in connection with the wine.

Upper Schaffhausen first appeared in the 12th century in appearance, as Pope Eugene III. the monastery of St. Ulrich in the Black Forest in 1143 confirmed his possessions.

1838, the independent places Bötzingen and upper Schaffhausen united to the community Bötzingen.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality uses about 305 hectares of land for wine growing.

Traffic

Bötzingen is close to the motorway 5 (Karlsruhe - Basel). It is also a good S-Bahn connection to the Kaiserstuhlbahn present, on working days in the half-hour the two mounting stations anfährt ( Bötzingen and Bötzingen mill). With it can be reached in about 15 minutes from the city center of Freiburg. The railway will be electrified by 2018 as part of the cooperation agreement between the regions Verbund GmbH (RVG ) and the transport company in Baden -Württemberg ( NVBW ) of 11 March 2009.

Established businesses

The largest employer with around 1,350 employees Bötzingens is the nationally known plastic factory Samvardhana Motherson Peguform (SMP Germany GmbH), which produces, among other plastic parts for the automotive industry.

Largest manufacturer and supplier of natural mud in German-speaking is the mineral plant Hauri, which supplies including Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Luxembourg.
