Bouhans -lès- Montbozon is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Bouhans -lès- Montbozon situated at an altitude of 258 m above sea level, about 18 km southeast of the town of Vesoul (air line). The village is located north of the valley of Ognon, in a hollow of the village Bach Ruisseau de Bouhans, at the edge of the wooded heights of the Bois de Bouhans.

The area of ​​5.15 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the middle Ognon Valley. The south-eastern boundary runs along the Ognon flowing here with various arcs by a roughly one -kilometer-wide valley to the southwest. From the river, the municipality's area extends northwestward across the alluvial plain, which is on average 255 m, down to the valley of the Ruisseau de Bouhans. Further to the north-west the land rises gradually to a plateau, which consists of limestone of the Upper Jurassic time. It is located at about 280 m and is partly under arable and meadow land, partly covered with forest ( Bois du Franois ). A narrow strip extends into the forest heights of the Bois de Bouhans. Here the highest elevation of Bouhans -lès- Montbozon is achieved with 341 m.

Neighboring communities of Bouhans -lès- Montbozon are Dampierre -sur- Linotte in the north, and Cognières Montagney - Servigney in the east, the south and Thiénans Fontenois -lès- Montbozon in the West.

History

Several findings indicate that the municipality of Bouhans been inhabited since the Neolithic period and during the Gallo- Roman period. Written mention of the village is in 1239th Bouhans belonged in the Middle Ages to the County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. With 118 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Bouhans -lès- Montbozon one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Saône. Economy and infrastructure
