Bozyazı

Bozyazı is the name of a district town and a district in the Turkish province of Mersin. The district is located in the south of the province and is bordered to the north by Karaman. The city itself is located on the Mediterranean Sea along the coast highway Europastraße 90th to province capital Mersin there are 210 kilometers to Anamur and only 14 km. Bozyazı has 15.881 and the district of 26,732 inhabitants ( 2010). Besides Bozyazı there are two more municipalities and 14 villages.

The city Bozyazı was created in 1987 through the merger of four villages Agzikara, Gürlevik, Denizciler and Çubukkoyağı. The name was the plane in which the villages were borrowed. Two years later Bozyazı was elevated to a district.
