Bräunlingen

Braeunlingen is a small town in the Schwarzwald- Baar-Kreis in Baden- Württemberg. It lies on the Breg, a source of the Danube river and is part of the Schwarzwald- Baar- Heuberg. The nearest major town is Donaueschingen.

Boroughs

To town Braeunlingen with the previously independent municipalities Döggingen, Mistelbrunn, Unterbränd and Waldhausen include the city Braeunlingen and 16 other villages, farms and houses. Pre-and Early History

A treasure from the environment Bräunlingens from the Merovingian period is exhibited in the treasury of the Archaeological Museum Colombischlössle in Freiburg im Breisgau: a decorated with gold, precious stone deposits and an amber bead splendor sword.

History

Braeunlingen 802 was first mentioned in documents as Brülingen. The city was chartered Braeunlingen in 1305. Zähringerplatz and later Habsburg city as well Villingen and Freiburg im Breisgau. Braeunlingen belonged in front of Austria Oberamt Breisgau, with which it fell in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden.

In the urban area are the ruins of the castle and castle Braeunlingen Dellingen.

Religions

Traffic

The city lies on the Bregtalbahn to Donaueschingen. Until 1971/1972 the Bregtalbahn of Furtwangen from over Braeunlingen led to Donaueschingen. Today, however, is Braeunlingen endpoint. Braeunlingen is connected to the ring pull system and weekdays has hourly connections to Huefingen, Donaueschingen, Villingen- Schwenningen, Trossingen and Rottweil.
