Brian Lemon

Brian Lemon ( born February 11, 1937 in Nottingham ) is a British jazz pianist and arranger.

Life and work

Brian Lemon pulled mid-1950s to London and became a member of Freddy Randall's band. He then worked for various bands in the range from traditional jazz to post-bop, like the bands of Betty Smith, Sandy Brown / Al Fairweather, Danny Moss, Dave Shepherd, George Chisholm and Terri Quaye. He also led a private octet that played songs of Billy Strayhorn. He also accompanied gas animal border in England musicians like Charlie Shavers, Ben Webster, Buddy Tate, Milt Jackson and played with George Chisholm and Kenny Baker. In the 1970s and 1980s, he worked with Benny Goodman and appeared in TV programs with Ray Brown.
