Brodek u Přerova

Brodek u Přerova until 1948 Brodek ( German Brodek ) is a market town in the Czech Republic. It is located eight kilometers north-west of Přerov and belongs to Okres Přerov.

Geography

Brodek u Přerova located in Hornomoravský úval (Upper Moravian Valley ). The town is circled to the north and west of the brook Olešnice which opens at Citov in the Marc Harm Morávka. To the east rises the Straz (215 m). Brodek is located on the main road II/150 between Přerov and Prostějov and the railway line Přerov - Olomouc.

Neighboring towns are Majetín and Krčmaň in the north, Hráza, Mladý Kaláb, Nelešovice and Kokory in the northeast, Žeravice and Lapac in the east, Předmostí and Luková the southeast, Císařov and Citov in the south, Věrovany, Rakodavy and Nenakonice the southwest, Dub nad Moravou in the West and Bolelouc, Čertoryje and Charváty in the northwest.

History

The oldest written record of Brod took place in the Moravian regional board and is dated 20 May 1301. Between 1301 and 1305 the village came into the possession of the Dominican convent Olomouc. In ancient traditions Brod is described as a village on a ford through the Jezda the way of Dub by Přerov. From this it can be seen that the Olešnice was formerly called Jezda and her former running apparently led along the present-day trench through the town. Since 1536 the place as Brodek, later in Latin writings as Brodeca and Brodeka (1771 ) was called .. The oldest town seal is from 1626; it shows the patron saint of the monastery, St. Catherine with a palm frond and Richtrad and including a left leaping deer. The parish registers were conducted from 1629 in Přerov, from 1700 in Kokory, from 1784 in Citov and since 1914 in Brodek. Until the dissolution of the monastery of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Olomouc in 1782 Brodek always belonged to the possessions of the monastery. Along the Olešnice was between Brodek, Majetín and Kokory until the end of the 18th century a system of fish ponds.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brodek formed a parish in the district team Kremsier. In 1855 the community was the district Prerau and 1868 re- assigned to the district Kremsier. Since 1877, the village is part of the Okres Přerov. 1881, the school was inaugurated. On April 29, 1909 Brodek was raised by Emperor Franz Joseph to the market. In the 20th century a moat was performed by Brodek to the sugar factory of the Olešnice. 1926 was a second schoolhouse. The official name suffix u Přerova leads the congregation since 1949. Since 1951 is to Brodek the bell foundry of Dytrych family. In 1976 the municipalities Císařov and Luková were the Local National Committee ( MNV ) Brodek u Přerova joined in 1983 and incorporated throughout. Císařov broke up in 1990 go again. On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the local community was granted the right to bear a coat of arms and banners in 2001. The coat of arms is trying to match the historic community seal of 1626. Since January 23, 2009 Brodek u Přerova again has the status of a Městys. In Brodek u Přerova there is a primary school; in the buildings of the old and new school, children are taught from Brodek, Luková, Majetín, Citov and Císařov and partly from Rokytnice, Kokory and Krčmaň. Among the most important companies include the bell foundry Dytrych, the malting Moravamalt, as, mineral water bottlers Hanácké závody, as and a bridge Directorate ( Mostní obvod ) the state railway. At the beginning of 2011, the district Brodek u Přerova of 569 houses and had 1829 inhabitants.

  • Neo-Romanesque Church of the Birth of John the Baptist, on the market, built in 1893.
  • Chimes on the market, built in 1999 to a design by the artist Jiří Studenský. The 22 bells weighing 5-220 kg were cast in the local bell foundry Dytrych and, together with the electronic controller a gift of bell casting champion Marie - Tomášková Dytrychová. They first performed at the beginning of the New Year's Day 2000.
