Bucheggberg District
The District Bucheggberg in the canton of Solothurn is a rural Protestant embossed strip of land that is almost entirely surrounded by the Canton of Bern. It belongs to Amtei Bucheggberg Water Office, the main town is Mühlendorf SO.
Geography
The comparatively sparsely populated district Bucheggberg extends from Lüsslingen southwest of the capital of the canton on the Mediterranean ridge Bucheggberg, which gives it its name, from northeast to southwest. On the southeastern side of the district is bordered by the Limpachtal. The northern boundary of the district is the River Aare. The district is connected only in the far north and northeast with the rest of the canton of Solothurn.
