Burgas Province

The Oblast Burgas ( Bulgarian Област Бургас ) is a county in southeast Bulgaria and the surface after the largest in Bulgaria. Administrative center is the city of Burgas.

The Oblast Burgas has national geostrategic importance. Here, traditional and new axes of economic and political interests intersect: Europe -Middle East- Asia; Europe - Middle East - Asia; Russia, Ukraine, Western and Southern Europe and Eastern Europe Caucasus.

Business and industry

The Oblast Burgas is the most important Import-/Exportzentrum Bulgaria. The reasons for this are extensive natural resources of national importance (mainly coal and minerals), fertile soils for agriculture, the existence of highly skilled workers in all sectors and a high social standards and a balanced Marktinfrastuktur. In the oblast there are also the largest tourism and recreation centers in Bulgaria on the Black Sea. Several nature reserves border the city of Burgas or the city.
