Canterbury, Victoria

Canterbury is a suburb of the Australian city of Melbourne and is located about 10 km east of the city center in the Boroondara City. Canterbury is the Viscount of Canterbury named after John Manners - Sutton, who was from 1866-73 Governor of the British colony of Victoria.

1870 a post office was opened in Canterbury. 1882, the establishment of a rail link to Melbourne.

Canterbury is now considered one of the wealthiest neighborhoods of Melbourne.
