Canton of Hérisson
Hérisson is a canton of the arrondissement in Montlucon Allier in the Auvergne region of France. It comprises 17 municipalities, the capital is Hérisson. Representatives in the conseil général of the department since 1998 Daniel Roussat.
History
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 with the establishment of the departments as part of the then " district Cérilly ". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the district Cérilly was dissolved, associated with the new district of the Canton of Montlucon and re-cut.

Geography
The canton is bordered to the north by the Canton Cérilly, in the east to the Canton Bourbon l'Archambault, the arrondissement of Moulins, in the south east to the Canton Montmarault, on the southwest by the cantons Montlucon - Nord-Est and Montlucon -Ouest, on the west by the Canton Huriel and to the northwest by the Canton Saulzais -le- Potier in the arrondissement of Saint- Amand- Montrond in the department of Cher (Centre).
