Capas (Tarlac)

Capas is a metropolitan area municipality in the province of Tarlac on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. It has 125 852 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 20 barangays. It belongs to the first class of income communities in the Philippines. Your neighboring municipalities are Tarlac City, San Jose ( Tarlac ) in the north, the east Concepcion, Bamban Botolan in the west and the south. It is located about 18.3 km south of Tarlac City and about 107 km north- west of the Philippine capital of Manila and can be reached from there via the Mc Arthur Highway.

In Barangay O'Donnell Capas National Shrine, the national memorial ( Paggunita Sa Capas ) was inaugurated in 1991 by the then President Corazon Aquino. It is reminiscent of the Bataan death march of American and Filipino soldiers in 1942. Glory of the Dead, a commemorative event will performed each year on April 9.
