Carlos Muñoz (racing driver)

Carlos Andrés Muñoz ( born February 2, 1992, Bogotá ) is a Colombian race car driver. It occurs since 2013 in the IndyCar Series.

Career

Like most racers began Muñoz his career in karting, where he was active from 2002 to 2007. At the end of the season he was on the fifth overall. 2013 remained Muñoz at Andretti Autosport in the Indy Lights. He won the race in Birmingham, Long Beach and Long Pond and Fontana. Although no other driver had scored more victories, he finished the season in third place. In addition, Muñoz made ​​his debut in 2013 for Andretti Autosport in the IndyCar Series and the Indianapolis 500 took part. In this race, he qualified for the second place. In the race he was twelve laps in the lead and was the best driver of his racing team to second place finish. In the rest of the season he came at Panther Racing as a replacement for the injured Ryan Briscoe and Andretti Autosport as a replacement for the diseased EJ Viso at any one race to use.

2014 received Muñoz at Andretti Autosport a full-time cockpit in the IndyCar Series.
