Charlie Hawkins is married twice. Firstly, with his wife Peggy, on the other hand with his taxi company Speedee Cabs. Unfortunately, the workaholic neglected his right woman and devoted primarily to his business where his buddy Ted Watson and several other drivers to work for him.

When it is too colorful Peggy, she decides to Ted's wife Sally to start your own business: Glam Cabs. After a short time Glam Cabs has gained the supremacy and the driver of Speedee Cabs hardly get more orders. Glam Cabs concept is as simple as successful: It is adjusted only attractive ladies. The very first film in the series to actor Jim Dale, who belonged to the usual cast of the films later. It was also the first film without Kenneth Williams, who then not only participated in two other of a total of 29 possible films of the series.

This weary taxi driver is the first film in the series, for which no more Norman Hudis but Talbot Rothwell has written the screenplay. For the next 20 films he should be the author of the films.
