Casola in Lunigiana

Casola in Lunigiana is a village of 1,000 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in Italy. It is located in the province of Massa -Carrara, Tuscany, located about 35 kilometers from Pisa. It lies on the upper course of the river Aulella.

It was built in the 15th century around a castle, which is now only a tower, representing the rest of the system. The village is surrounded by chestnut forests on the southern slopes of vineyards and olive groves.
