Catarina Ligendza
Catarina Ligendza ( born October 18, 1937 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish opera singer.
Life
Catarina Ligendza is the daughter of opera singer Brita Hertzberg and the hero tenor Einar Beyron. She studied at the Vienna Academy of Music, then from 1959 to 1963 when Henriette Klink Schneider at the Bavarian State Conservatory of Music in Würzburg and finally at Josef Greindl at the Academy of Music in Saarbrücken. Catarina Ligendza is married to the German oboist and conductor Peter Ligendza, with whom she has collaborated in joint concerts and radio recordings.
Stage career
1963 made his debut as the Countess Almaviva Catarina Ligendza in Mozart's opera Le nozze di Figaro in Linz in 1964 and went to Brunswick.
1965 to 1969 she was in the opera ensemble of the Municipal Theatre of Saarbrücken ( Saarland State Theatre now ), where she sang Elsa in Lohengrin, the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier, Desdemona in Othello, Arabella and all Brünnhilde in Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen sang.
1969-1987 she was a member at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and at the Stuttgart State Opera.
There she sang Ariadne, Agathe, CHRYSOTHEMIS, Elsa, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera, Leonore in Fidelio, the Brünnhilde and Isolde, and the Iphigenia in Iphigenia in Tauris by Christoph Willibald Gluck, directed by Achim Freyer. She appeared in Hamburg, Munich and the Vienna State Opera and sang Leonore in Fidelio, the, the Brünnhilde, Isolde, Ariadne, Lisa in Pique Dame and Elsa, among others with Placido Domingo as Lohengrin.
