Celal Atik

Celal Atik ( * 1917 in Gürden, today Yazıkışla Koyu, Boğazlıyan, Yozgat, † April 27, 1979 ) was a Turkish wrestler.

He started in Ankara with the rings and won in 1938 his first Turkish Cup. In 1939 he represented his country for the first time at an international championship, the European Championships in Oslo. During the Second World War, he had, like so many other athletes also dispense in his prime at international championships. From 1946 to 1951 he wrestled again very successful. The highlight of his career was the Olympic gold medal in London in 1948.
