Chapelle (Broye )

Chapelle (Broye ) ( Freiburg Patois Tsapala? / I ) is a village and formerly independent municipality in the district Broye the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. By 1953, the church was called officially Chapelle- près- Surpierre. On 1 January 2005 Chapelle (Broye ) was incorporated into Cheiry.

Geography

Chapelle (Broye ) lies at 622 m above sea level. M., 2.5 km north-northeast of Cheiry and 8 km southwest of Payerne ( straight line ) in the Fribourgese exclave Surpierre. The small village extends on the grounds terrace Fin de la Gola scenic location on the eastern slopes of the Bois d' Aclex high above the valley of the Lembe, Molassehügelland in the western Fribourg Mittelland. The former municipality area was around 2.1 km ². The area included a portion of the Lembetals, handed to the north over the slope of Chapelle up to the forest edge of the Bois d' Aclex (up to 680 m above sea level. M. ) in the south to the mountain ridge between the valleys of the Lembe and Broye.

Population

With 69 inhabitants ( 2002) counted Chapelle (Glâne ) prior to the merger of the smallest municipalities in the canton of Fribourg. In 1831 the community had 129 inhabitants. At Chapelle (Broye ) also includes the hamlet Coumin lingerie (520 m above sea level. M. ) on the Lembe and Coumin -Dessus ( 558 m above sea level. M. ) on a terrace on the southern side of the valley of the Lembe as well as some individual farms.

Economy

Chapelle (Broye ) still lives by agriculture, particularly from agriculture, the cultivation of tobacco, from dairy farming and cattle breeding. Below the village the gravel pit is exploited.

Traffic

The place is off the major thoroughfares. By Postbus course, which runs from Payerne to Combremont -le- Petit, Chapelle (Broye ) is connected to the public transport network.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1363 under the name Cappella. Since the Middle Ages was under Chapelle (Broye ) the rule Surpierre. With this, the village came on February 21, 1536 Bern, and on March 1, 1536 under the rule of Freiburg, where it was assigned to the Bailiwick Surpierre. After the collapse of the Ancien Régime (1798 ) was one Chapelle (Broye ) during the Helvetic Republic until 1803 Estavayer district and then to the district Surpierre before it was incorporated in 1848 in the District Broye.

As part of since 2000 sponsored by the Canton of Fribourg municipal mergers Chapelle (Broye ) was incorporated on January 1, 2005 with the effect after Cheiry.

Attractions

The chapel Chapelle (Broye ) dates from the 17th century. In some local characteristic farmhouses from the 17th to 19th centuries have been preserved.
