Châteauneuf-sur-Isère
Châteauneuf -sur -Isère is a commune in the Drôme department in the Rhône -Alpes. The municipality is situated on the riverside Isere, shortly before its confluence with the Rhone.
History
A first colonization of present-day municipality is dated from the 12th century. Saint -Hugues, Bishop of Grenoble, came from Châteauneuf -sur -Isère. In the 13th century the municipal territory belonged to the diocese of Valence.
