Chatuzange-le-Goubet

Chatuzange -le- Goubet is a commune in the Drôme department in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

Chatuzange -le- Goubet lies in the valley of the Isere, 4.5 km southeast of Bourg -de- Péage and about 16 km east of Valence. Grenoble is located about 53 km northeast of Chatuzange -le- Goubet (in straight line ).

The 28.24 km ² large municipality covers a portion of the lower Isère Valley. This land is very fertile and is therefore used primarily for agricultural purposes. Is grown mainly cereals. Chatuzange -le- Goubet is a scattered village, in addition to the main settlement area but still has several hamlets and isolated farms to the community.

Population

With 4857 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Chatuzange -le- Goubet rather one of the larger communities in the department of Drôme. 1962, the population was still 1622, since then it has therefore more than doubled. Particularly strong growth was recorded in the 1980s.
