Cheikh Hadjibou Soumaré

Cheikh Hadjibou Soumaré (* 1951 in Dakar ) was 2007-2009 Prime Minister of Senegal.

From September 1991 to September 1995 he was at the Bank of Credit and Commerce International Sénégal, then from September 1995 to 16 July 1996 Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Planning, to August 1, 2000 Director of the budget and to 23 May 2001 Director General of Finance.

He was born on 23 May 2001 as Responsible for the budget and budget in the Ministry of Economy and Finance. That he remained until moving to the Parlamtswahlen on June 3, 2007. From President Abdoulaye Wade, he was appointed on 19 June 2007 as Prime Minister.

Soumaré is a technocrat and is not a member of the ruling Senegalese Democratic Party ( PDS). The coalition of the PDS is a part, due to the boycott of the opposition won a majority of seats in the parliamentary elections. Soumaré 's government, with 37 members (excluding Soumaré ), was appointed also on June 19. It is similar to the previous government of Macky Sall composed and does not include the opposition. Soumaré and his new government was sworn in on June 21. On 3 December 2007 Soumaré 's government was reduced to 28 members.

After the local elections in March 2009 Soumaré resigned from his position as Prime Minister, as the successor Souleymane Ndiaye was appointed in sunbeds.
