Chênex

Chênex is a commune in the French department of Haute- Savoie department in the Rhône-Alpes region.

Geography

Chênex is located at 500 m above sea level. M., about 16 km southwest of the city of Geneva (air line). The village is located on the plateau on the southwestern edge of the lake basin, at the northern foot of the Montagne de Sion, in Genevois, near the border with Switzerland.

The area of ​​5.38 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the Genevois. The municipal area is drained by the Ruisseau de Chênex north to Laire and thus to the Rhône. From the edge of the forest at Biolay, the area extends southward over a gently rising plateau to the foot of the Montagne de Sion. Also, large parts of the forest area Bois des Raynauds on the northern slope of the Montagne de Sion is one of Chênex. Here is 724 m above sea level. M. reached the highest elevation of Chênex.

Population

Economy and infrastructure
