Chengdu Metro

The Chengdu Metro is the underground network of the Chinese city of Chengdu. The first line was opened on 27 September 2010. The network of Chengdu Metro so far consists of two U -Bahn lines of 40.97 km length and 37 underground stations. Chengdu Metro is the seventh metro network in mainland China, and the first subway network in western China.

The lines

Line 1

Line 1 runs from " Shengxian Lake " (Chinese升 仙湖) on " North Railway Station" (Chengdu Railway Station) and " South Railway Station" to the south in the suburbs of the city. The final stop is there, " Century City " (Chinese世纪城). The total length is 18.5 km at present.

Line 2

Line 2 runs from " Chadianzi Bus Terminal " (Chinese茶店子 客运站) about " Chengdu East Railway Station " to " Chengdu Institute of Administration" (Chinese成都 行政 学院). The total length is currently 22.47 km.

Planning and further expansion

The city of Chengdu is planning a total of 5 lines be completed by 2016.

Line 1

A southern extension should have a length of about 5.4 kilometers and six stations.

Line 2

The western extension ( 8.77 km, six stations) to the eastern extension ( 10.8 km, six stations) will be opened in December 2014 and 2013.

Line 3

Construction of the line was 3 28. in April 2012. The line will include 19.63 km and 17 stations, the opening is planned for 2015.

Line 4

Construction of the line was in 23. 4 February 2012. The line will consist of 22.4 kilometers and 16 stations, it is to be opened in June 2015.

Line 7

The line 7 with a length of 38.6 km is a circle line. It will have 31 stations and will be opened in 2015 or 2016.

Tickets

Fares range from ¥ 2 for journeys of less than seven stations up to ¥ 5 for journeys of more than 24 stations ..
