Hangzhou Metro

The Hangzhou Metro (Chinese杭州 地铁, Hangzhou Pinyin Ditie ) is the metro network in the city of Hangzhou and the surrounding suburbs in the Chinese province of Zhejiang. Construction began in March 2007, the first 48 km long line with 31 stations, was opened on 24 November 2012 two more lines are under construction. The long-term planning looks to 2050 a 375 km long network with 13 lines.

History

Hangzhou is with 8.8 million inhabitants (2013 ) one of the ten largest cities in China. The planning of the metro network began in the 1990s. The construction of this first project should begin in September 2003, but were stopped by the city government for cost overruns.

2005 a new start for the planning of the metro network was commissioned to be built in three phases: the first to the lines 1 and 2, and a portion of the line 4 arise until 2020, the line should be finalized 1 and 4 and three more lines to be built; three more lines to follow by 2050.

The preliminary line 1 was approved two years later on 11 January 2007 by the city government that works for the first route began on 28 March 2007.

In November 2012, the line was one passed as the first line of the network operation and did so for 17 Hangzhou city in China with a subway. The line is also the longest in China ever opened first section of a new metro system. The construction costs amounted to 22 billion yuan, which is about 3.5 billion U.S. dollars.

Network

The current system

Line 1

The line is 47.97 km long, of which 41.36 km underground, 6.14 km to 0.47 km elevated railway line and extend to the street level. The line serves 31 stations. It runs from Xianghu south of the city under the Qiantang River through the station and along the West Lake, Wulin Square in the city center, and from there it passes under the Grand Canal and runs east to the East Railway Station and the bus station Jiubao. Here it divides into two branches - one leading north to Linping and the other east to the terminus Wenze Road.

Opened on November 24, 2012 line is operated for the next 25 years of a Public-Private Partnership ( PPP). It consists of a joint venture between the local Hangzhou Metro Group with the MTR Corporation of Hong Kong, the MTR Corporation owns 49 % of the shares and Hangzhou Metro Group a 51% stake.

The line is 48 six-car trains of Line B of CSR Nanjing Puzhen served, which run distance during the day in ten minutes. It is expected that the line is used annually by 78 million passengers.

During the construction of the line crashed on 15 November 2008, a 75 m long section of the tunnel near the Fengqing Avenue in Xiaoshan, where 21 workers killed and another 24 were injured.

Under construction lines

Line 2

The 49 km long line will run from 2 Langzhu the west by the municipalities Xihu, Shangcheng and Jianggan to the east and passes under it the Qiantang River. In the city center is at the station Fengqilu an interchange with Line 1

The construction of the line is divided into two phases. In a first phase will be built since 2011 at a 33.69 km long with 26 stations part, which in turn is divided into two sections. The 18.66 km long East - sections of Zhaoyangcun until after Qianjianglu on the north bank of the Qiantang River to be ready to open in 2013, the 15.03 km long north-west section of Qianjianglu to Fengtanlu will follow in 2016.

Line 4

The first part of the line 4 will run from Pengbu by the Xintang street and the Fuchunjiang road, pass under the Grand Canal and end in the Qianjiang New City in the northwest of the city. This section is 15 km long and connects the Eastern Railway Station Line 1.

The only later to be built second part of the line 4 will run from Penbu the south, pass under the Grand Canal, then run along the north bank of the Qiantang River before it crosses under this west of the city and the Oriental Culture Park ends.

Planned lines

Line 3

The 35-km long line 3 will guide you through the north-western boroughs Gongshu, Xihu and Shangcheng. It is the Tianmushan follow road and thereby serve the western bus station. In the city the line is at Wulin Square are combined with line 1, and together with this pass under the Grand Canal. North of the Grand Canal, the two lines separate again and the line 3 will lead to Dingqiao.

Line 5

The 48- km long line 5 will run from west to east, connecting Yuhang and Cangqian Town with the city center. From there it runs in a southerly direction to the train station passes under the Qiantang River and ends at South Station in the district of Xiaoshan.

Line 6

The line 6 will be 25 km long. It connects the industrial areas on the south bank of the Qiantang River and includes them to the lines 1, 2 and 5.

Line 7

Line 7 will be 31 km long and north of the Qiantang River, south of the river connecting the Wushan Square with the airport Hangzhou Xiaoshan while also opening up industrial areas. The line will have an interchange stations with the lines 2.

Line 8

Line 8 will be 18 km long and connect it with the Xiasha Jiangdong District. You will be connected at the station South Qiaosi on the northern branch of the line 1.

Line 9

Line 9 is a short connection between a station on line 7 and the Jiubao bus station and runs parallel to the north bank of the Qiantang River.

Line 10

Line 10 will run from the sports center Huanglong to the north, where it is located north of the line 4 split into two branches.
