Chésopelloz (? Freiburg Patois Tsèjopèlou / i ) is a municipality in the District de la Sarine ( German: Sarine district) of the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland.

Geography

Chésopelloz is located on 620 m above sea level. Level, 6 km west of the capital of the canton of Fribourg (air line). The farming village stretches along the western flank of the Sonnaz, east of Piemont, in Fribourg plateau.

Population

With 126 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) Chésopelloz one of the smallest municipalities in the canton of Fribourg. History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1229 under the name Chissapenlo. Later, the names Cheseaupenlo (1406), Chesaupello ( 1445 ) and Chesopelo (1668 ) published. Chésopelloz reached in 1317 by the Lords of Estavayer by a Abtausch to the abbey Hauterive.
