Chotýčany

Chotýčany ( German Schmiedgraben ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located eleven kilometers north-northeast of Ceske Budejovice in South Bohemia České Budějovice and belongs to the.

Geography

Chotýčany is located on the right side of the Vltava River valley on the Lischauer threshold on the western slope of the Pahorek ( 544 m) over the manifold sources of the stream Dobřejovický creek. Moreover, in the vicinity of the village spring the streams Kysela voda and Libochovka. To the west and north of the site of the railway line České Budějovice - Veseli nad Lužnicí is bypassed, the Chotýčany station is outside of the village near the settlement of U nádrazí. On the eastern periphery of the e 55/I/3 between České Budějovice and Veseli nad Lužnicí leads.

Neighboring towns are Budka, Cirhan, Na Libochové and Vlkov in the north, U nádrazí, Vitin and Mazelov in the northeast, Smržov, Dolni Slověnice and Kolny in the east, Velechvín and Lhotice the southeast, Jednota, Chyňava, Libníč and Borek in the south, Hrdějovice, Hosín and Zámostí the southwest, Dobřejovice in the west and Stara Obora, Karbanice, Chlumec and Poněšice in the northwest.

History

Evidence of an early settlement provide several Bronze Age burial mounds from the time of the Slavic castle hill culture in the vicinity of the place dar.

The village was established in the country beautiful forests as charcoal burners' camp on the old trade route from Budweis to Prague, who overcame the highest point on the Lischauer emerging here between the Budweiser pool and Wittingauer pool. The first mention of belonging to the royal village Froburg Chotayczany took place in 1378 in a charter of Charles IV. Among its owners were the lords of Lobkowicz, from Pernštejna, Neuhaus and Malovci Malovic. The location on the trade route led in 1470 to the establishment of a Ausspannwirtschaft. In wartime, the place of troops through trains and looting was concerned, also drove in the 16th century in the forests robbers mischief and raided by traveling salesmen. According to financial speculation and participation in the uprising of 1618, the goods of Malovci Malovic were confiscated and handed over to the government in 1623 by Baltasar Marradas who had it re-catholicize. 1661 sold the Marradas of the reign of the Prince Schwarzenberg. In 1840 there was Schmiedtberger ditch / Kotegcan or Chotegcan from 25 houses with 238 inhabitants. In the village there was a tavern. Vicarage was Hosín. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always the rule Fraunberg remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Chotýčany / Schmidt trench formed in 1850 a district of the municipality in the district Dobřejovice Budweis. 1854 own village school was built, before the lessons were held in Hosín. 1868 Chotýčany broke loose from Dobřejovice and formed its own community. 1873 was built north of the village, a railway station, him following year the railway line České Budějovice - Veseli nad Lužnicí was put into operation. The last pile was ignited in 1908, then went out the tradition of charcoal burning. 1910 lived in Chotýčany / Schmiedgraben 260 Czech -speaking inhabitants. In 1924 it was connected to the electricity grid. Formed at the train station in the 20th century a settlement. On 1 July 1975, the annexation took place after Ševětín. The school was closed in 1980 and demolished six years later. After a referendum sparked Chotýčany November 24 again in 1990 by Ševětín going on.
