Chris DiDomenico

Christopher DiDomenico ( born February 20, 1989 in Woodbridge, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player of Italian descent who is since February 2014 when the SCL Tigers in the National League B under contract.

Career

DiDomenico first played from 2004 to 2006 at the North York Rangers in the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League and Greater Toronto Hockey League. Finally, for the season 2006 /07 at the age of 17, he moved to the higher class Quebec Major Junior Hockey League Saint John Sea Dogs of the. DC in his rookie season recorded the striker 75 points scorer in 70 games this season. His achievements meant that he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the sixth round to 164th place out of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the following season improved to 95 points scorer in as many games. The season 2008/ 09 spent the attacker in two teams. At the start of the season he continued to operate on for Saint John, before he moved shortly after the new year for league rivals Drummondville Voltigeurs. In exchange for him Simon Giroux, Mathieu Gingras and two draft- choice rights in the QMJHL Entry Draft occurred on the way to Saint John.

By changing and in particular to participate in the U20 Junior World Championship 2009 DiDomenico played only 51 matches, but was now by far the best team in the league under contract. In addition, the Toronto Maple Leafs brought him in March 2009 - shortly after the end of the regular season in which he scored 59 points - the signing of an NHL entry-level contract with three years duration. A little later, he played with the Voltigeurs in the QMJHL play -offs. In the third final of the Coupe du Président Shawinigan Cataractes against itself DiDomenico was seriously injured when he was brought by the opponent Adam Bourque - Leblanc in a challenge to the gang to case and with the feet first fell into the same. He retired while a fraction of the left femur and the patella to and fell almost an entire year. Though the Voltigeurs won the championship in seven games and was DiDomenico with 31 Assists of the best Assist donors throughout the play-offs, but in the Memorial Cup in 2009, he could not support his team. Only towards the end of the game year 2009/10 returned to the center back into playing mode and played twelve games until the start of the playoffs, in which another 14 were followed. In the last 26 games at youth level, he scored 43 points despite the long absence.

Before DiDomenico but ran aground in the professional area for the franchise of the Maple Leafs transferred him this together with Viktor Stålberg and Philippe Paradis on June 30, 2010 for the reigning Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, which in return Kris Versteeg and the transfer rights to Bill Sweatt to Toronto charges. For the Blackhawks, the striker initially managed not to jump into the NHL squad and was, therefore, in the 2010/11 season for their farm team, the Rockford IceHogs active in the American Hockey League and the Toledo Walleye in the ECHL. For Toledo, he scored 25 points in 37 games, and four points in 25 games for Rockford. In the season 2011/12 he stood still for both farm teams on the ice.

In summer 2012, the jump was followed by Europe. In the Italian Serie A1 he wrote initially for one year at Asiago. With the team from the Veneto region, he won in his debut season, the Italian Cup, the Canadians played a key role especially in the final with 42 points scorer in 15 games, of which eleven goals, the profits of the national champion title. In the following season, DiDomenico was again one of the most successful points scorer of Italy's top division; his 48 assists in 31 games represented a new high, while the Canadians finished the league in second place in the scorers list. More successful was only Brian Ihnačák, which denied five games and nine more points had scored more. In February 2014, he decided on a change to the SCL Tigers in the National League B.

Internationally

DiDomenico represented his native Canada only at the U20 Junior World Championship 2009 in the Canadian capital Ottawa. The Canadians won by a 5-1 final win over Sweden the gold medal. The striker came in all six tournament games of maple leaves are used. Overall, he came up with seven points scorer, including two goals. Both he scored in the first round.
