Christian Gourcuff

Christian Gourcuff ( born April 5, 1955 in Hanvec, Finistère ) is a French former football player and current coach.

Player

Born and raised in Brittany midfielder has never played as a professional while at a club of Division 1, but he was at Stade Rennais, EA Guingamp and FC Rouen FC Lorient and Le Mans for many years to the root of the respective second division team. His only foreign station - except for a two and a half month stint during a trip through Canada - the Swiss FC La Chaux -de-Fonds took place in the National League B. His son Yoann (* 1986), however, is considered one of the greatest French player talents of the early 21st century.

Christian Gourcuff played on December 30, 1988, once in the Breton National selection ( against the USA).

As early as 1982, he acted not only on the pitch but prepared as player-coach at his later work before that made him has in the presence of a highly respected instructor.

Coach

Even as a player coach Christian Gourcuff had begun his training and worked in this dual function in Lorient, Le Mans and Pont- l'Abbé. As of 1991, at age 36, he then finally focused on the Trainermetier and worked the next 10 years as head coach at FC Lorient, he fought in his first season in the Division 2.
