Christiane Pielke

Christiane Staffeldt ( born May 12, 1963 in Hannover), born Pielke, is a former German swimmer who competed for the Federal Republic of Germany. She won an Olympic medal in 1984.

Christiane Pielke began in 1973 with the competitive sports and belonged from 1979 for ten years to the West German top swimmers. She started for the SGS Hanover. In 1981, she first participated at the European Championship. As a third in the German Championship in 1984 in the 100 meters freestyle, she qualified for the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Along with Stephanie Bofinger, Svenja Plain and Karin Seick Pielke swam with freestyle relay another bronze medal. 1988 Staffeldt could not only defend their national title over 50 -meter freestyle, but also won the 100 meters. At the Olympic Games in 1988, she launched over both distances, but only reached about 50 meters, the B- final, where she finished second, for a total of ten.
