Čížov

Čížov ( German Zeisau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers south of the center of Jihlava in Moravia and part of the Okres Jihlava.

Geography

Čížov located on the right side of the river Jihlávka at the mouth of the creek Čížovský creek. To the east rises the Holý vrch (660 m ) southwest of the Vraní Kopec (606 m) and west of the Popický vrch ( 682 m). Through the village leads the European route 59/Staatsstraße I/38 between Jihlava and Znojmo.

Neighboring towns are Pístov and Rančířov in the north, Studénky and Puklice in the northeast, Příseka in the east, Rosice the southeast, Cerekvička in the south, Vílanec, Jezdovice and Salavice the southwest, Popice, Okrouhlík and Kostelec in the west and Dvorce, Vysoká and Hosov in the northwest.

History

Was first documented the village in 1358th

After the abolition of patrimonial Čížov / Zeisau formed in 1850 a part of the community Rancirov / satchel in Jihlava District Commission. 1873 was the municipality Čížov / Zeisau. In 1961 Čížov was incorporated into Vílanec and with the beginning of 1989 together with it to Jihlava. On December 11, 1991, the Ministry of the Interior approved the decision of the City Council of Jihlava on the separation of Čížov. Since 1992 Čížov again forms a separate municipality.
