Clarence S. Campbell Bowl
The Clarence S. Campbell Bowl is an ice hockey trophy, which is awarded to the National Hockey League since 1992 annually to the team that wins the Conference the Western Conference Finals (and thus rises in the Stanley Cup final ). It was donated by the clubs of the NHL and named after Clarence S. Campbell, the NHL president 1946-1977. The counterpart to this, the winner is the winner of the Eastern Conference, the Prince of Wales Trophy.
Due to various structural changes and name changes within the NHL divisions and Conferences also changed the recipient of this trophy more than once:
- 1968: Best team of the basic passage of the newly created West Division
- 1975: Best team of the basic passage of the Campbell Conference
- From 1982: Playoff winner of the Campbell Conference
- From 1992: Playoff winner of the Western Conference
Record holders are the trophies Edmonton Oilers won with seven. Best American team, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Detroit Red Wings with six trophies.
The Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Islanders and the Philadelphia Flyers won both the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl, and the Prince of Wales Trophy.
