Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies

The Community of European Railways (CER ) - French Communauté européenne du rail (CER) - is an association of railway transport (utilities) and railway infrastructure companies (EIU ) from the European Union and its neighboring states.

The Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies is headquartered in Brussels and itself the task of the interests of its 70 members towards the European institutions ( eg the European Commission) and decision-makers responsible. Here is the promotion of the railway as a promising and sustainable transport in the foreground, with the elimination of technical and bureaucratic obstacles is an important goal (interoperability). It was founded as part of the International Union of Railways UIC in 1958.
