Conrad Anker

Conrad Anker ( born November 27, 1962) is an American rock climber, mountaineer, and author, who is active mainly in the Himalayas and Antarctica. He is a member of The North Face climbing team and also works closely with Timex Expedition as brand ambassador together. In 1999, Conrad Anker, a key member of the search team that found the body high of legendary British climber George Mallory on the north face of Mount Everest. Anchor is the one climber who spotted Mallory's body in a boulder field at 8,150 meters above sea level in the huge north face of Everest. Anchor lives in Bozeman, Montana.

Anchor ascended also important routes in Yosemite Valley ( California ) Zion National Park ( Utah), Baffin Island (Canada), and in the Ellsworth Mountains in Antarctica.

  • The Endless Knot (2007 ), directed by Michael Brown and produced by David D' Angelo, is an HDTV documentary with The North Face and Rush HD. In October 1999, the friends Alex Lowe and Conrad Anker to be buried in an avalanche in the Tibetan Himalayas. Conrad survived the avalanche and just began shortly afterwards to suffer from the " guilt of the survivors ." In the months after the tragedy Conrad and Alex's widow Jennifer try to comfort each other and fall in love unexpectedly with each other. Now their connection is tested by Alex's three boys try to accept Conrad as a stepfather. Alex's death was just one of many tragedies when families lose relatives in the mountains. The families of casualties altitude Sherpas suffer the same fate. In memory of Alex and Jennifer Conrad try to process the tragedy by supporting a school for Sherpas and mountaineers helper.
